what is a spot color?
spot color is a term used in screen printing that refers to a solid color screen or "plate" for each individual color used in the design. most screen printers charge you a fee for each color of ink (there is one screen for each ink color printed) so artwork is set up in such a way that the colors can be separated out into their own screens, applied one color at a time to the shirt to complete the final design.
* keep in mind that the more plates or colors you use, the more expensive it will be to have your shirt printed.
